Timed Writing

Argument—allotted time: 40 minutes.

In Act I, scene ii of Julius Caesar, Brutus tells Cassius that “the eye sees not itself/ But by reflection, by some other things.”

In a well written essay, determine what Brutus is actually saying about the nature of an individual’s ability to accurately perceive her/himself. Agree, disagree or qualify the statement, using examples from your reading, experiences and/or observations.

***It is supposed to be a timed writing in 40 minutes so there is no given length, it is just what you are able to write in the allotted time (with a beginning, middle, and end of course)***
