Journal#1

For this journal, please make Small Talk at a professional event with someone who is in a staff or academic position. It could be at the International Coffee Hour where you make small talk with a staff member or professor; at a job fair where you make small talk with representatives from companies; with a secretary or counselor in one of the offices on campus; or some other professional setting with someone who doesn’t know you. It should not be in one of your classes.

Download this form:

  • Fill out the heading information (Please use New Times Roman 12 font). Remember to add words that you want to practice in class, and check the box indicating what kind of activity you did.
  • Type your 1 page reflection.
  • Save your document.
  • Upload the file onto the assignment on BB before class on the due date (remember to click ‘submit’ twice after you browse for the file.
  • Print out a copy of the reflection and bring to class on the due date.
